COBEAU PRIVACY POLICY

COBEAU LLC (“COBEAU,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information from pet owners, caregivers, and other users (“Users” or “you”) when they access our website or mobile application (collectively, the “Platform”), create an account, book or offer pet-care services, or otherwise interact with our services.

For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Services” refers to all features, functionality, content, and tools made available through the COBEAU website and mobile application, including any future updates, expansions, or integrations.

By using the Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.

I. OVERVIEW

COBEAU’s Privacy Policy is guided by our core commitment to protecting our community, supporting safe pet care, and operating with transparency and integrity. We’re building tools to connect pet owners and caregivers—and that includes keeping your data safe.

Our Privacy Policy is rooted in the following principles:

  • We are committed to creating a safe, secure, and trustworthy space for pets, owners, and caregivers using COBEAU.
  • We do not sell your personal information to third parties. COBEAU is a service-driven platform, not a data-mining business.
  • We strive to provide clear, easy-to-understand access and control over your personal information.
  • We take extra precautions to protect sensitive information, including limiting the personal information collected and placing all account creation and payment control in the hands of verified adult users.
  • Pets cannot be booked for services or have profiles created without an adult account holder managing the process.
  • We do not serve third-party targeted advertising on the Platform. COBEAU is designed to support safe pet care arrangements, not to monetize your data.

We employ layered security measures, role based data access restrictions, and audit logs to ensure personal information is accessed only by authorized personnel and solely for legitimate business purposes.

Any future services or integrations will be covered by an updated Privacy Policy, which will be posted before such features launch.

II. SCOPE

This Privacy Policy applies to COBEAU’s website and mobile app. It governs the personal information collected through our Platform, including when users create an account, book petcare services, offer services as a caregiver, or interact with other features such as messaging, scheduling, or support.

COBEAU is not directed at minors for unsupervised use. The Platform does not allow anyone under the age of 18 to independently create accounts, enter personal information, or book or provide services. All accounts must be created and managed by an adult user.

COBEAU prohibits account “sharing” between unrelated parties and may suspend or terminate accounts found to be in violation, in order to maintain compliance with age, safety, and privacy standards.

What Data Collection Means Data collection includes any personal or technical information gathered when users access or interact with COBEAU’s Platform.

This includes:

  • Personal Data such as name, email, phone number, payment details, and login credentials
  • Usage Data such as device details, browsing behavior, booking history, and app activity

We collect the minimum necessary data to support core platform features. Certain data, such as pet profile images, may be required for full functionality of the Platform. Other data, such as additional notes or optional photos, is not required but may enhance the user experience.

Third-Party Services

We may use trusted third-party providers for analytics, infrastructure, identity verification, background checks, insurance offerings, and billing services, such as:

  • Analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Amplitude)
  • Cloud storage and hosting providers
  • Payment processing (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay)
  • Background check providers (if required for certain caregiver roles)
  • Insurance providers and brokers (if applicable)

We may use video call or live chat providers (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) if these features are added in the future as part of service facilitation

If COBEAU integrates a third-party payment or verification service, users will be directed to that provider’s own privacy policy for details about how their data is handled.

Future Updates and Features

If we add additional features—such as community forums, enhanced communication tools, or insurance integrations—this Privacy Policy will be updated in advance to reflect new data uses.

Privacy Contact

A designated COBEAU team member will serve as the privacy contact for user questions and concerns. Users may reach out through the contact details listed at the end of this policy.

Policy Updates

If this Privacy Policy is updated, COBEAU will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last Modified” date at the bottom. If we make significant changes to how personal information is used or disclosed, we will notify users in advance and provide an opportunity to consent to those changes before they take effect.

Service Disclaimer

COBEAU provides a platform for connecting pet owners and caregivers. We do not directly provide pet care services, and we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of individual users. By creating an account on our Platform, you agree to our Terms & Conditions, including any limitation of liability provisions. Users acknowledge that COBEAU does not vet, certify, or guarantee the skill, experience, licensing, or insurance status of any caregiver beyond what is expressly disclosed through the Platform. It is the responsibility of pet owners to conduct their own due diligence before engaging a caregiver.

III. TYPES OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT

COBEAU collects limited personal, technical, and behavioral information necessary to operate our website, mobile app, and platform services. We strive to minimize data collection while maximizing transparency—especially when it comes to sensitive information related to identity, location, and payment.

We collect the following types of data:

1. USER-PROVIDED INFORMATION

This includes any information pet owners or caregivers voluntarily submit through our website, app, or platform:

  • Name and contact details (e.g., email address, phone number)
  • Account registration details (e.g., username, password)
  • Payment and billing information (processed by third-party payment processors)
  • Pet details such as name, breed, and age (required), and care instructions (optional)
  • Service requests, booking details, or profile information provided for matching purposes
  • Support requests, comments, or feedback submitted through forms, in-app messaging, or emails

By submitting information, you confirm that you have the legal authority to provide it, and, if applicable, that you have obtained any necessary consent from third parties whose information you share (e.g., a co-owner of a pet).

You also acknowledge that any false, misleading, or unauthorized information submitted through the Platform may result in suspension or termination of your account and potential legal action if such conduct causes harm to COBEAU, other users, or third parties.

2. AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED DATA

We automatically collect certain technical and usage information when users interact with COBEAU’s platform, including:

  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser type and version
  • IP address
  • Website or app behavior such as page views, clicks, navigation flow, and time spent on features
  • Booking and transaction activity
  • Communication history (messages sent via the platform, but not private external communications)

We use tools like Google Analytics and Amplitude to track anonymized, aggregate usage patterns to improve performance, reliability, and user experience.

Automated fraud detection and security monitoring tools may also collect behavioral and technical data to help prevent account compromise, payment fraud, or other misuse of the Platform.

3. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

COBEAU uses cookies and similar technologies solely to support platform functionality, enhance performance, and maintain security. We do not use cookies to serve targeted advertising or track users for marketing purposes.

Cookies may be used for:

  • Maintaining session state (e.g., staying logged in)
  • Supporting secure payment processing
  • Tracking high-level engagement (e.g., time spent on site)
  • Troubleshooting and debugging technical issues

Users can manage cookie preferences through their browser or device settings. Disabling certain cookies may impair your ability to use some features of the Platform, including secure login, booking, and payment functions.

4. LOCATION INFORMATION

We collect user address information at sign-up (through an input field) in order to connect pet owners with caregivers in their community and ensure relevant service availability. We may also collect general region or state-level location through IP address for analytics and performance purposes. We do not collect precise GPS data without your express consent. If GPS-enabled features (such as caregiver matching by live location) are offered in the future, they will be strictly opt-in and you will have the ability to disable them at any time.

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS

We may share limited data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the platform. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for authorized purposes.

Services may include:

  • Payment processing (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay)
  • Cloud hosting and storage
  • Analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Amplitude)
  • Identity verification and background check providers
  • Insurance providers and brokers (if applicable)

If payment or verification providers are added or changed, their individual privacy policies will apply, and users will be notified accordingly. COBEAU conducts reasonable due diligence before engaging any third-party provider and requires ongoing compliance with applicable data protection laws.

6. MINOR USERS

We do not allow individuals under 18 to create accounts, submit personal data, or engage in transactions on COBEAU. All information entered into the platform must be provided by an adult account holder.

In compliance with applicable laws, we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from minors. If we discover that we have collected such information in violation of this policy, we will delete it promptly.

If a caregiver becomes aware that they are inadvertently interacting with a minor account, they must immediately report it to COBEAU so that appropriate action can be taken.

7. NO IN APP ADS OR MONETIZATION TRACKING

COBEAU is an ad free platform. We do not serve third-party ads, sell user data, or engage in behavioral advertising. There are no monetization trackers embedded in the platform. Data is collected strictly to improve platform functionality, enhance service quality, and support user engagement.

This commitment applies to both the web and mobile app versions of COBEAU and extends to all future updates unless otherwise required by law and with prior user notification.

IV. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

COBEAU uses the information we collect to operate, support, and improve our website, mobile app, and related services; facilitate secure and reliable pet care bookings; and keep users informed and in control of their account activity. We do not sell personal data and we never use data to serve targeted ads. Our platform is designed to protect user privacy, support transparency, and comply with applicable laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other relevant U.S. and international privacy regulations.

1. SERVICE FUNCTIONALITY

We use collected information to:

  • Register and manage user accounts (all members are pet owners and/or caregivers).
  • Enable secure login, account management, and password recovery.
  • Facilitate bookings, scheduling, and use of the COBEAU credit-based system.
  • Store and display pet profiles and care instructions for service fulfillment.
  • Match pet owners with suitable caregivers based on preferences, location, and availability.
  • Provide customer support and respond to questions, feedback, or feature requests submitted by users.
  • Track service-related activity through the COBEAU credit system, including membership renewals and credit exchanges between users.

Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account or submit personal data. Any information about a pet must be provided by its legal owner or authorized caretaker. We may also use service related data to enforce compliance with our Terms of Service, investigate potential misuse, and protect the safety of pets, owners, and caregivers.

2. ANALYTICS & PERFORMANCE

We use anonymized, aggregate data to:

  • Analyze how users navigate the platform and which features are used most often
  • Identify and resolve technical issues or bugs
  • Measure engagement, booking frequency, and service satisfaction
  • Guide improvements in platform functionality, security, and user experience

Our analytics tools include Google Analytics. These tools allow us to monitor high-level usage patterns over time, without linking them to personally identifiable information. We do not use analytics tools to profile individual users for marketing purposes. Where possible, analytics data is deidentified at the point of collection to further reduce privacy risks.

3. MARKETING (OPT IN / OPT OUT)

We may use your email, SMS, or in-app notifications to send occasional communications, such as:

  • Updates about new features, service improvements, or platform changes
  • Protect user safety, animal welfare, or the integrity of the platform
  • Prevent fraud, security breaches, or abuse
  • Enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements

In the event of a business transition such as a merger, reorganization, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred, provided the receiving party upholds equivalent privacy protections. Any such transfer will be subject to confidentiality obligations, and where legally required, we will notify affected users before the transfer becomes effective.

Data Security Practices

We implement industry-standard safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS)
  • Secure storage and firewall protections
  • Role-based access controls to limit internal data exposure
  • Continuous monitoring and periodic security audits

We encourage users to maintain strong passwords, use secure networks, and log out of shared devices. COBEAU personnel are trained in privacy and security protocols and access user data only when required for service delivery.

In the event of a data breach that poses a material risk to user privacy, COBEAU will provide timely notification to affected users and any applicable regulatory authorities, consistent with legal requirements.

International Transfers (If Applicable)

COBEAU currently processes and stores data in the United States. If data is ever transferred internationally through global cloud providers, we will ensure legal safeguards are in place, such as contractual protections or compliance with recognized data protection frameworks. Users will be notified if international transfers become relevant. COBEAU will use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or similar legally recognized transfer mechanisms to protect data moved outside the United States.

Data Storage & Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for operational, legal, or safety purposes. Upon request for account deletion or if an account becomes inactive, we will delete or de-identify personal data in a timely manner, subject to retention required by law or for legitimate business interests. De-identified data that cannot be linked to an individual may be retained for analytics, research, or operational improvement.

Retention periods for specific data categories (e.g., payment records, booking history) are documented in COBEAU’s internal data retention schedule and applied consistently to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
